MedWest Health System is presenting the MedWest-Harris and MedWest-Swain Foundation Chaplaincy Golf Tournament on May 12th at Smoky Mountain Country
Club in Whittier to support the hospitals’ chaplaincy programs and the spiritual care provided to patients, families and hospital staff. The fundraiser tournament at the club at 1300 Conleys Creek Road in Whittier is a four-man captain’s choice. Registration is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. A barbecue lunch will be
served at 1:30 p.m. The tournament includes hole-in-one prizes, goody bags and a putting contest for a golf membership. Individual player tickets are $100 each. Sponsorships include Corporate Sponsor for $600, a Team Sponsor for $400, a Hole Sponsor for $150 and a Tee Sponsor for $100.

The Buncombe County School system is announcing kindergarten registration dates for all schools. Parents of rising kindergarteners are encouraged to contact the school that their child will attend and make a registration appointment. A child must turn 5 years old on or before August 31st of the current school year in order to be eligible to enroll. Entering first graders must be 6 years old by October 16.
